ABOUT THE ORGANISERS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad, established in 2014 under Symbiosis International (Deemed University), embodies the same values and vision set by Prof (Dr.) S. B. Mujumdar. It embodies the institution’s ethos of expertise, justice, and service, providing a curriculum aligned with internationally recognised standards and best practices in law. The college is known for its commitment to innovation, dynamism, and excellence in legal education providing opportunity to students for achieving legal excellence.<\/p>\n

The Centre for Finance, Accountability, Corporate Governance, and Transparency (C-FACT) at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, is dedicated to establishing the institution as a vibrant center for discourse, debate, and research in the field of Corporate Law. Upholding a steadfast commitment to the rule of law and principles of good governance, CFACT plays an essential role in fostering a deeper understanding of transparency and accountability. The Centre\u2019s mission is to not only inform and educate but to actively engage and sensitize individuals to the importance of transparent and accountable governance. Through its multifaceted approach, C-FACT offers comprehensive training programs, and sensitization workshops, thereby equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools to navigate and leverage these rights effectively.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE EVENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Corporate Synergy is an initiative introduced with the aim to increase the student\u2019s knowledge pertaining to aspects related to legal advising and contract drafting, which are some of the most important aspects of the corporate world. Aside from formal legal education, law students with aspirations of pursuing their careers in the corporate field need to have experience and expertise in matters pertaining to MoU drafting, Swiss bidding, Contract Drafting and Negotiations. Corporate Synergy provides a platform for students to learn all these elements since it has been intricately formulated to cover each and every step for an effective agreement formulation and engage in healthy debate between the Participants. Playing the roles of Company Representative<\/strong> and Legal Advisor<\/strong> provides equal opportunity for legal students to bring out their hidden corporate personality amongst themselves and compete intra-college to win the best action plan. The competition is branched out across a span of 2 days to scrutinize every plan and provide equal opportunity for all the participants to establish their claims.<\/p>\n

ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Law students enrolled in full-time 5-year\/3-year undergraduate or postgraduate courses may apply to obtain real-world experience and insightful criticism from highly qualified experts.<\/p>\n

REGISTRATION PROCESS<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. A maximum of 3 teams per college may register themselves separately.<\/li>\n
  2. Open the Google form titled \u2018Corporate Synergy Registration Form<\/a>\u2019 by clicking here (hereinafter referred to as \u2018CSRF\u2019).<\/li>\n
  3. Fill in the form as instructed. At the end of the Google form share the screenshot of the payment of the Registration Fee.<\/li>\n
  4. Submit one CSRF per team.<\/li>\n
  5. A student may register for the competition only within the stipulated date and time as mentioned in the List of Important Dates.<\/li>\n
  6. Any delay in the registration procedure, partial compliance with the procedure, undertaking the registration procedure post the expiration of the scheduled dates of registration, and non-compliance with the registration process will be deemed as no registration.<\/li>\n
  7. The power to waive the condition mentioned in clause (5) lies with the Centre for Finance Accountability, Corporate Governance and Transparency (hereinafter referred to as \u201cC-FACT\u201d or \u201cOrganising Committee\u201d).<\/li>\n
  8. A scanned copy of the Bona-fide Certificate \/ Identity card issued by of the Institution is to be attached in the online registration form. This is mandatory.<\/li>\n
  9. A Travel details form may also be attached during the time of registration. However, it is not mandatory to fill the same during the time of registration itself; participants may also fill this form post-registration by mailing their travel details to cfact@slsh.edu.in, on or before 25th February, 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    REGISTRATION FEE<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. The registration fee for the competition without accommodation is Rs. 2,000\/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only) per team (Including registration fee and GST.)<\/li>\n
    2. For fee regarding with accommodation, please contact the C-Fact team for the same. Accommodation shall be provided from 03:00pm on 7th March 2025 to 11:59 am of 10th March 2025.<\/li>\n
    3. The registration fee must be paid only through the NEFT payment mode and the screenshot of the transaction receipt of the same must be attached in the registration form attached above. Kindly refer to the brochure for payment details.<\/li>\n
    4. Any additional charges incurred by the team while making the transaction are to be borne by the team.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      EVENT STRUCTURE<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The Event Structure is as follows:<\/p>\n

      Day 1:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Round 1 – Swiss Bidding:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Each team comprises a Company Representative (CR) and a Legal Advisor (LA).<\/p>\n

        o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Judges (representing industries or government entities) present project proposals for bidding.<\/p>\n

        o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Teams draft a Clause Statement in response, addressing elements like planning, budget, objectives, implementation details, and others (non-exhaustive list).<\/p>\n

        o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Teams will get 2 hours to draft the bid and 12-minutes to present, including Q&A with the judges.<\/p>\n

        o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Teams are evaluated, and 50% advance to the next round.<\/p>\n

        \u00a0<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Round 2 – Contract Drafting:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Qualifying teams prepare a comprehensive contract based on their successful Swiss Bid.<\/p>\n

          o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The drafting process lasts 2 hours, where the LA consults the CR to create the contract.<\/p>\n

          o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Key components include roles, purpose, validation, obligations, conditional clauses, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0breach, termination, arbitration, and signatory clauses.<\/p>\n

          o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Using AI tools during this session is prohibited.<\/p>\n

          \u00a0<\/p>\n

          Day 2:<\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Round 3 – Negotiation:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The top 8 teams negotiate contract terms with an industry panel.<\/p>\n

            o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Negotiations are divided into sub-rounds:<\/p>\n

            \uf0a7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Quarter-Finals: 45-minute negotiation among 8 teams; 4 advance.<\/p>\n

            \uf0a7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Semi-Finals: 1-hour negotiation among 4 teams; 2 advance.<\/p>\n

            \uf0a7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Finals: 1 hour and 15 minutes for the final negotiation.<\/p>\n

            o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Teams clarify ambiguities, propose adjustments, and defend critical clauses.<\/p>\n

            o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Success depends on effective communication, strategic reasoning, and problem-solving.<\/p>\n

            \u00a0<\/p>\n

            PRIZES<\/strong><\/p>\n

            1.The rewards consist of Cash Prizes, Paid Internship opportunity as well as Trophies:<\/p>\n

            1. Best Team: Rs. 20,000\/-<\/li>\n
            2. Runners-Up: Rs. 15,000\/-<\/li>\n
            3. Every participating team shall be awarded a \u2018Certificate of Participation\u2019, the teams qualifying the Semi final round shall be given a \u2018Certificate of Merit\u2019 and the Winning team shall receive a \u2018Certificate of Achievement\u2019.<\/li>\n
            4. Paid internship opportunity at Indian multinational conglomerate to the winning team.<\/li>\n
            5. Free books to the winning team.<\/li>\n
            6. A 6-month LiveLaw Premium Subscription account to the winner of the competition.<\/li>\n
            7. A 20% scholarship for all event participants for all our courses including the subscription plan at Lawctopus.<\/li>\n
            8. Winners will be provided with the Corporate Legal Document Drafting Course consisting of four modules by Legal Specs. Conducted by Associate \u2013 Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.<\/li>\n
            9. Award for Winners:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              – The winning team will be awarded free access to any one course from the Manupatra Academy.<\/p>\n

              – The runner-up team will receive a 75% discount on any one course from the Manupatra Academy.<\/p>\n

              – The team in third place will be eligible for a 50% discount for any one course.<\/p>\n
